(H)ART of Minneapolis

Kyle, Annie, Kati, and Latoya did their mapping project on the Walker Art Museum and the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. Their map shows all of the different activities put on by the Walker and MIA. Some of the events are separate from each other while others are shared by both the institutions.
The layout of this map was fantastic and the presentation was perfect. Many people, including myself, believed that this project would look at home in one or both of the museums as an artistic way of showing the upcoming events. I thought it was very beautiful and professional looking. The group seemed to have worked together well on the project delegating a certain task to each of its members.
The idea of the heart worked well with the different veins going to different events put on by the museums. People thought that the blue veins leading back to the city could be confusing, but I don't think the overall effect would be the same without them. I thought the map was overall very aesthetically pleasing and made me want to keep coming back to look at it.

  1. Good points. I agree, the professional aesthetics of this piece were really impressive and did make the viewer want to spend more time with it.
